ANGKAWI, March 15 (Bernama) -- A light aircraft, believed to be from
the HM Aerospace Sdn. Bhd flight training centre, made an emergency
landing in the sea near the Pasir Hitam police officers' mess, Ayer
Hangat, here Monday.
Two people on board the aircraft, a pilot and a trainee, escaped unharmed in the 9.30am incident, Langkawi police chief Supt Ishak Hasan said.
He said they were helped to safety by fishermen who were in the vicinity.
"It is learnt that the aircraft had just took off from the training centre when it was forced to make an emergency landing, believed due to engine problems.
"The aircraft landed about 100 metres from the beach," he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said police had yet to receive a report on the incident.
